Allen had worked just one summer as a carpenter before he decided to engage in a 4 year apprenticeship. The experience equipped him with the knowledge and skills needed to start out on his own, so in June 1976 he did. What started as a way to make some extra money, turned into a company that has thrived for over 40 years, doing some of the best high-end construction of residential homes, not only in Fairfield County, but also in the country.
The company's strong reputation was affirmed by it's appearance in "This Old House" magazine in 2005. Allen J. Reyen, Inc. was listed as a top 10 firm for the country's contractors and builders. The magazine highlighted his aptitude for projects where a blend must be made between old construction and new, and where projects require a high level of precision usually caused by highly detailed project specifications, regularly exceeding 100 pages.
Allen Reyen started his company based on his passion for Carpentry and Construction, which separates him from many of his competitors.
